ENHARMONIC NOTE DICTIONARY
B Sharp (B♯) Trumpet Fingering
On the trumpet, B sharp (B♯) is enharmonically identical to C natural. Because there is no half-step between B and C, raising B by one semitone lands directly on C — played Open (0, no valves pressed) in both the lower octave (B♯3 = C4) and middle staff (B♯4 = C5).
You will encounter B♯ frequently as the leading tone in C♯ Minor, C♯ Major, and as the third of a G♯ Major triad in sharp key signatures.
Sounds a Major 2nd lower than written (Written C4 = Concert B♭3)
Standard Concert B♭4 band tuning note — zero slide offset
대체 운지 사용 이유 (2 - 3): 5th-partial alternate for B–C trill
Primary band tuning pitch (Concert B♭4). Spin fast, relaxed air through center of bell.
Why Do Composers Write B♯4 / B♯3?
In Western classical and wind band tradition, music notation is governed by diatonic grammar. Every major and minor scale must contain exactly one of each letter name (A, B, C, D, E, F, G).
